Long-pending house allowance approved for secretariat employees: Muzzammil Aslam

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the long-pending House Requisition Allowance for Secretariat employees, with Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam describing the move as part of the government’s commitment to protecting the legitimate rights and welfare of public servants despite financial constraints.
He was addressing a thanksgiving ceremony organised by the All Secretariat Coordination Council following the approval of the allowance.
Mr Aslam said the allowance had been a longstanding demand of Secretariat employees, noting that employees serving in the secretariats of other provinces had been receiving the benefit for several years. He said the provincial government approved the allowance after reviewing the province’s financial position and recognising the legitimacy of the employees’ demand.
He said the government remained committed to improving the working conditions and welfare of its employees and would continue to provide benefits and incentives in line with the province’s available financial resources.
The finance adviser also urged government employees to perform their duties with honesty, integrity and dedication, reminding them that they were responsible for serving more than 45 million people of KP.
He said efficient and sincere public service was essential for strengthening public confidence in government institutions and ensuring better service delivery.
Representatives of various employee organisations welcomed the approval of the allowance and thanked the provincial government for addressing what they described as a long-standing demand.
Among those present at the ceremony were Zafar Khan Yousafzai, chairman of the Secretariat Coordination Council, Muhammad Asad of the Computer Operators Association, Sher Zaman, vice chairman of the council, Altaf Hussain, president of the Class-IV Employees Association, Tariq Hassan, and other employee representatives.
The participants termed the approval of the House Requisition Allowance a significant step towards recognising the services of Secretariat employees and improving their welfare.
