Jamia Masjid Hazrat Ali R.A. inaugurated at Faisal Hills

Offering a major new place of worship for the people Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock

Jamia Masjid Hazrat Ali R.A., located at Faisal Hills, was formally inaugurated on October 9, 2026, marking the opening of region’s largest mosque after Faisal Mosque.
The mosque was opened to worshippers ahead of Friday prayers. Chairman of the Faisal Town Group, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, was also present on the occasion and joined worshippers in offering special prayers for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
Spread over 10 kanals, the magnificent mosque has a total covered area of 85,000 square feet and a four-storey structure with a capacity to accommodate more than 22,000 worshippers.
Its striking architectural features include a 180-foot-high minaret and a central dome measuring 60 feet in both width and height. The three-storey main prayer hall features an open design, while a central skylight allows natural light to flood the interior, creating a sense of openness and spaciousness.
The mosque’s architectural elegance is further enhanced by intricate golden-foil finishing, exquisite chandeliers imported from Iran, and a specially designed upper dome covering imported from China.
Facilities include parking for 300 vehicles, ablution facilities for 200 people at a time , a separate prayer hall and entrance for women, and a dedicated space for funeral prayers.
The mosque complex also features 10,000 square feet of dedicated facilities , including a madrassa, an Islamic library and community centres.
Jamia Masjid Hazrat Ali R.A is set to become a prominent centre for worship, learning and spiritual gathering for communities across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as Attock and its surrounding areas.
