IMF slaps more 11 new conditions on Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: IMF has imposed 11 new conditions on Pakistan. According to media report IMF has issued review report about Pakistan. According to report, gas tariff will be changed in July 2026 and February 2027., Electricity tariff will be adjusted in January 2027. The condition of making NAB sovereign and transparent too is included in the conditions. According to report total IMF conditions have risen to 55. New conditions are aimed at budget discipline, improvement in tax system and economy. As per report Pakistan has met most of the financial targets. Some tax targets and reforms could not be completed. According to report the direction of Pakistan economy is not clear. It has been apprehended Iran war will place pressure on inflation and affect economic growth and payments. Acknowledging movement forward in restoration of economy in Pakistan IMF said GDP growth rate rose in first six months. Current account deficit remained balanced and inflation under control. Foreign exchange reserves remained better against previous estimates. ONLINE
