MNA praises PM for budget

ISLAMABAD
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA), Anjum Aqeel Khan credited Prime Minister(PM) Shehbaz Sharif for a budget that sought to protect citizens from additional hardships.
While talking to media, he termed the federal budget a realistic and forward-looking financial plan, prepared amid extraordinary regional and economic challenges facing the country. He also highlighted Pakistan current financial and other challenges that the country confronted with including security concerns in the region, tensions with India, instability in neighbouring Afghanistan, and evolving geopolitical developments involving Iran and the United States. He noted that global uncertainty and fluctuations in oil prices had contributed to inflationary pressures, affecting economies around the world, including Pakistan. He added that the government had also remained committed to fulfilling conditions under international financial agreements while striving to stabilise the economy. Describing the budget as a foundation for long-term economic growth, he said the government was focusing on strengthening Pakistan’s industrial and export sectors. He underscored that measures had been introduced to encourage manufacturing, boost exports, create employment opportunities, and attract investment. MNA noted that some segments of society had expected greater relief but maintained that the government had made efforts to support the middle class through salary and pension increases, tax adjustments, and other relief measures.
