PTI protest: Countrywide mobile services’ suspension ‘likely’ from today

ISLAMABAD: With the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) deciding to go ahead with its November 24 “do-or-die” protest, the government is likely to suspend mobile services across the country from today evening, interior ministry sources told.

With Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issuing stern directions to authorities to prevent the protesters from entering Islamabad, police vans have been delivered to Islamabad and necessary preparations have been finalised regarding the demonstrators’ arrest and where they are to be kept afterwards, added the sources.

The development comes in the midst of strict security measures being taken by the incumbent government to tackle the former ruling party’s protest.
