CM Afridi urges public participation in Aug 5 Peshawar rally

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has urged people, particularly youth, to participate in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for Aug 5 at Peshawar Toll Plaza, calling it a “decisive” event.
In a video message to the public, the chief minister said the rally would be a “semi-final” where important announcements would be made. He called on people to raise their voice against what he described as injustice, inflation, unemployment and lawlessness.
Afridi alleged that PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were facing serious health concerns and that their demands for treatment under the supervision of personal doctors were not being accepted. He also claimed that Imran Khan was being kept in isolation and denied meetings with family members, party leaders and doctors.
The chief minister said all constitutional and legal avenues had been explored, leaving protest as the only option. He maintained that political and national issues should be resolved through constitutional and legal means rather than force.
Afridi said his government was following Imran Khan’s vision, adding that the Aug 5 gathering would mark an important moment for the party’s supporters. He also criticised the federal government over economic challenges, inflation and security issues.
He called on the people, especially young citizens, to attend the rally, saying the country was at a critical stage and that public participation was needed.
