WSSCM finalizes sanitation plan, 696 sanitary workers, and 84 vehicles to carry out Eid operations

Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) has finalized Eid ul Adha sanitation operation plan for 38Neighborhod councils of Mardan.
On the first day of Eid ul Azha, the Eid gahs will be cleaned and swift before Eid prayers while the cleanliness operation will be started from early morning and will be continued till the entire city is cleaned of waste and animal remains.
The plan was reviewed during a meeting was chaired by Chief Executive Officer Engineer Adil Nawaz. He stated that a comprehensive Eid ul Adha sanitation plan has been devised under which 164 collection points have been established across Mardan. In addition, two transfer stations at New Adda and Par Hoti have been set up for the collection of sacrificial animal remains, which will be transported from these points through large vehicles for safe disposal.He said that high-tech modern machinery would be used in the cleanliness operation and animal remains would be shifted to a safe place for safe disposal.
He further added that 696 employees will be deployed and 84 different types of sanitation vehicle will take part in the Eid operations.
Engineer Adil Nawaz cancelled the holidays of all the staff, and stated that no negligence would be tolerated on the occasion of Eid as well as strict action will be taken against any official found absent.
He said that 3000 Biodegradable bags would also be distributed among the citizens and other stake holder to manage animal remains.
During the Eid operation, the control room will be remained open till late night and in case of any inconvenience, the citizens are requested to record their complaints on helpline 1334, 0314-4228999, 0937-840892.
For the efficient and effective execution of the Eid ul Adha monitoring teams have been constituted comprised of Managers and Assistant Managers in the supervision of General Manager and chief executive officer.
Citizen Liaison Cell of the company has already launched an awareness campaign in all union councils for public awareness to dump waste at designated points. Awareness brochures distributions has been started in various parts of the city with slogans regarding cleanliness and complaints cell numbers of the company for recording complaints.
Ulema, teachers, elders and people from all walks of life are being engaged to make the sanitation operation a success. “Masses’ role is vital in keeping the city clean,” said Engineer Adil Nawaz.
