Trials of Hazara Region Women Basketball completed, Jashan-e-Azadi Basketball from Aug 10
The day long trials of the Hazara Region for Inter-Provincial Basketball Women Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Team were held under the supervision of Roz Ameen Khan and Secretary Hazara Region Rafiq Khan with District Sports Officer Junaid Rehman was also present.
A total of 50 girls from Haripur, Mansehra and Abbottabad participated in the day-long trials.
The trials were held through competitions and due chances were given to the female players to show their skills well before selection.
District Sports Officer Junaid Khan, Roz Ameen Khan and Rafiq Khan expressed the hope that the team of Hazara Region would show good results in the National Independence Day Inter-Provincial Basketball Championship to be starting from August 10 to 14, 2024.
Junaid Khan said that the Independence Day Inter-Provincial Basketball Championship to be organized by Pakistan Basketball Federation, would be played from August 10.
When contacted Secretary General of Pakistan Basketball Federation, Khalid Bashir, in order to celebrate the Independence Day in a full way, a five-day Championship is being organized in the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, under the auspices of the Federal Basketball Association with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board.
The final will be played on August 14, 2023, he said. He said that there will be Men and Women competitions in the Jashan-e-Azadi Inter-Provincial Basketball Championship, in which teams from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan and Islamabad will show in action, in which more than 170 players and officials will participate.
On the occasion of the Championship, all the arrangements have been finalized. He said that the federation is trying to promote basketball in the country through organizing various competitions.
