Gilani pays tribute to parents

ISLAMABAD
Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on the occasion of Global Day of Parents, paid rich tribute to parents for their unconditional love, sacrifices, and lifelong guidance in shaping individuals and strengthening societies.
In his message, the Chairman of the Senate said that parents are the foundation of strong families and prosperous nations, whose care, wisdom, and devotion play a vital role in nurturing future generations.
He emphasised that Islam accords a special and elevated status to parents, repeatedly stressing kindness, respect, and obedience towards them. Referring to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, he noted that Allah Almighty has commanded believers to treat their parents with compassion and humility, and to speak to them with kindness and dignity.
The Chairman of the Senate said that caring for parents, particularly in their old age, is not only a moral responsibility but also a religious obligation.
He added that the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) highlight that serving parents is among the greatest acts of virtue and a source of blessings, mercy, and success in both this world and the hereafter.
