Meena Khan Afridi inaugurates development project at Tehsil Sports ground Wazir Bagh

Provincial Minister for Higher Education and Local Government, Meena Khan Afridi, formally inaugurated an important development project at the Tehsil Sports Ground Wazir Bagh.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Project Director Arbab Faiz, Regional Sports Officer Peshawar Kashif Farhan, local elders, workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and a large number of athletes.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Meena Khan Afridi stated that fulfilling the trust placed by the public in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is their top priority. He emphasized that the government is taking significant steps to engage youth in healthy activities, and this project is a key part of that vision.
He further added that the modern sports project will provide high-quality, international-standard facilities to the youth of the area. This will not only promote sports but also create opportunities for local talent to grow and excel.
The project includes a futsal football ground, cricket practice academy, basketball and volleyball courts, walkways, water supply and washroom facilities, pavilion renovation, solar and electrical systems, boundary walls, and LED lighting.
Local residents and athletes welcomed the initiative, stating that it will encourage the younger generation towards positive activities and help transform the area into a hub for sports.
This project is expected to be a significant milestone not only for the promotion of sports but also for the physical and mental development of youth.
