Education Minister issues ultimatum over teachers’ salary delays at Thatta open forum

Provincial Minister for Education Sardar Shah on Friday issued a clear ultimatum to education officers in Thatta, directing them to immediately complete all pending documentation for the release of salaries to newly appointed teachers, warning that any further delay would invite strict disciplinary action.
Speaking at a public open forum (Khuli Katcheri) held at Gymkhana Makli, the minister instructed both primary and secondary education officials to ensure uninterrupted and timely salary disbursement.
He made it clear that negligence or bureaucratic inertia in this regard would not be tolerated.
The open forum drew a large number of residents from across District Thatta, who voiced a wide range of grievances concerning education, health, revenue, local government, public health engineering, policing, and other civic services.
Participants highlighted serious issues including land encroachments in the Kohistani and coastal belts, lack of employment opportunities for local residents in wind power projects operating in the Kohistani region, and the failure to utilize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for the welfare of affected communities.
Citizens also demanded the reopening of closed schools, repair and reconstruction of dilapidated school buildings, provision of furniture, access to clean drinking water in villages, and overall improvement in education, healthcare, roads, infrastructure, electricity, and Sui gas supply. Other demands included the removal of water closures in canals during December, dualization of the Thatta–Hyderabad and Thatta–Sujawal roads, and the regularization of teachers.
Law and order concerns were also raised, with speakers calling for decisive action against criminal elements, eradication of the drug menace to safeguard the younger generation, and improved security for life and property.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sardar Shah said he had come to listen directly to the people and resolve issues at the grassroots level. Matters falling outside his immediate jurisdiction, he added, would be forwarded to the Chief Minister or the relevant provincial ministers for prompt action. He assured the public that all genuine grievances would be addressed transparently and without discrimination.
The forum was attended by PPP MNA and District President Thatta Sadiq Ali Memon, MPA Rukhsana Shah, PPP District Vice President Abdul Hameed Panhwar, General Secretary Imtiaz Qureshi, Information Secretary Mahmood Alam Shah, Education Secretary Zahid Abbasi, Deputy Commissioner Thatta Munawar Abbas Soomro, SSP Thatta Farooq Ahmed Bajarani, Civil Surgeon Syed Yameen Shah, along with other senior district officials and political representatives.
