Shehbaz hosts reception in honour of Pezeshkian

ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday hosted a reception ceremony at the Prime Minister House in honour of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit to Pakistan.
Upon his arrival at the Prime Minister House, President Pezeshkian was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces presented a Guard of Honour to the visiting Iranian President, who later inspected the guard.
The national anthems of Pakistan and Iran were played during the ceremony, reflecting the close and friendly relations between the two neighbouring countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced members of the federal cabinet to President Pezeshkian, while the Iranian President also introduced members of his delegation to the Prime Minister.
As part of the ceremony, President Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif jointly planted a sapling in the lawn of the Prime Minister House as a symbol of friendship, cooperation and enduring bilateral relations.
Special prayers were also offered on the occasion.
The visit is expected to contribute to further strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in diverse fields of mutual interest.
