Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Iranian President, discusses regional peace and stability

TEHRAN
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, called on the President of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, on Tuesday and exchanged views on regional developments, peace initiatives and bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and regional stability. He acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent efforts to encourage the peaceful resolution of disputes and foster understanding among regional stakeholders amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace, stability and constructive engagement in the region. He underscored the importance of cooperation and dialogue in addressing common challenges and promoting regional harmony.
The two sides also reviewed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations. They agreed to maintain close consultations and coordination with the shared objective of advancing peace, prosperity and stability across the region.
