Barrister Saif rejects Khawaja Asif’s allegations on terrorist settlement in KP

Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, has strongly refuted PML-N leader and federal minister for defense Khawaja Asif’s claim regarding the alleged settlement of terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling it misleading and baseless.
In a statement issued here on Friday he stated that such accusations were an attempt to divert attention from the federal government’s failure in combating terrorism.
Barrister Dr. Saif challenged Khawaja Asif to present evidence of even a single terrorist being resettled in KP. He questioned why, if the Defense Minister possesses such knowledge, he has not taken action instead of making unsubstantiated claims.
He reminded Khawaja Asif that as Defense Minister, his responsibility extends beyond Islamabad’s borders to the entire country. Engaging in political rhetoric over a sensitive issue like terrorism, he asserted, is highly irresponsible.
Emphasizing the need for concrete measures in the fight against terrorism, Barrister Saif stated that mere statements will not suffice. He also criticized Khawaja Asif for his belated apology regarding his past support for martial law, suggesting that a more meaningful apology would be acknowledging and addressing Form 47.
He further added that Khawaja Asif should also seek forgiveness from Rehana Dar for becoming an MNA through alleged irregularities in Form 47.
Mr Saif called on Khawaja Asif to take responsibility for the recent incident in Balochistan and step down from his position as Defense Minister.
