Shafi Jan inaugurates new building of GHSS in Kohat

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has said on Wednesday that the province is witnessing rapid progress in education, health and development sectors in line with the vision of Imran Khan, under the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a newly constructed higher secondary block at Government High School Behzadi Chakarkot in Kohat completed at a cost of PKR 42.621 Million, the Minister said education remains the “foundation of a prosperous society” and the government’s top priority is to provide quality learning facilities to the youth.
He announced that dozens of schools across Kohat are being upgraded from primary to higher secondary level, while plans for a women’s university and a degree college have also been approved. A 1,000-bed modern hospital has additionally been sanctioned to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Shafi Jan said ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects worth millions of rupees would improve connectivity and accelerate regional development, adding that these initiatives form part of a broader plan to transform Kohat into a modern urban centre. He termed the newly inaugurated school block a significant milestone for students, saying it would provide improved learning conditions and greater educational opportunities.
Following the ceremony, the Minister inspected various sections of the building. Local participants welcomed the initiatives, expressing the hope that development projects would continue in the region with the same momentum.
