PM enhances price of high octane fuel from Rs 100 to Rs 300 per liter

ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has increased levy from Rs 100 to Rs 300 per liter on high octane fuel used in luxury vehicles.
As per media reports, decision to enhance levy on high octane fuel was taken in the meeting held under PM through video link.
The notification for increasing high octane fuel levy by Rs 200 per liter has been issued. Now levy on HOBC has risen to Rs 305.37 per liter. Earlier levy on HOBC stood at Rs 105.37 per liter. Now new price of HOBC of stands at Rs 535 per liter.
According to press release issued from PM House prices of fuel being used by lower and middle class in their vehicles have not been enhanced and price of the fuel which is being used in luxury vehicles has been increased.
As per press release regular petrol will be available at old rate. This decision will not to lead to increase the fares of public transport and aero planes.
The press release said saving of Rs 9 billion will accrue to government per month due to this decision.
