Pakistan senior men’s hockey team announced for FIH Pro League matches

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced the final 20-member Pakistan Senior Men’s Hockey Team for the upcoming FIH Pro League matches in Belgium and England.
The squad was finalized based on the recommendations of the National Selection Committee, following careful scrutiny by the PHF Professional Development Committee (PDC) headed by Olympians Islahuddin Siddiqui and Hassan Sardar. The selection process was conducted transparently after trials held from 19th to 20th May 2026, during which 21 players were shortlisted before the squad was reduced to 20 on merit, said a press release.
Final 20-Member Squad: Goalkeepers: Waqar, Ali Raza; Defenders: Abu Bakar, Arbaz Ahmad, Muhammad Abdullah, Sufyan Khan; Midfielders: Nadeem Khan, Ammad Shakeel Butt, Moin Shakeel, Hammad Anjum, Zikriya Hayat; Strikers: Ghazanfer Ali, M. Ammad, Rana Waleed, Abdul Rehman, Arfraz Khan, Rana Waheed, Ahmad Nadeem, Arshad Liaqat, Hannan Shahid.
The reserve list will be announced separately once finalized by the National Selection Committee.
On the directions of the Prime Minister, the team is being provided comprehensive administrative, financial, and logistical support for the Pro League campaign. Key measures include: daily allowance revised to $110 per player per day, being paid in advance; best accommodation and logistics arrangements for the team during the tour; Pakistani Missions in England and Belgium have been contacted and instructed to provide full facilitation and support to the players throughout the matches.
The players have undergone rigorous training during the camp and will continue training until departure to ensure peak match fitness and readiness.
PHF officials stated that participation in the FIH Pro League matches in England and Belgium will provide crucial international exposure and experience, forming an important part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming Hockey World Cup.
