Merged districts U-16 games, Bajaur, Orakzai, Khyber and sub-division Kohat shine

Competitions in basketball, cricket, volleyball, football and hockey are continuing successfully at various venues across Peshawar as part of the Merged Tribal Districts Under-16 Games 2026. Teams from different districts delivered impressive performances to secure notable victories.
At Qayyum Sports Complex, Bajaur defeated Orakzai 30–15 in basketball, while Sub-Division Kohat overcame Mohmand 36–26. Upper South Waziristan beat Lower South Waziristan 26–2. Sub-Division Peshawar secured a 4–0 win against Sub-Division Lakki, and North Waziristan defeated Khyber 27–21. Sub-Division Tank also triumphed over Sub-Division D.I. Khan with an 8–0 victory.
Director of Sports Merged Districts, Umar Arshad Khan graced the occasion as chief guest. He was accompanied by Deputy Director Sports Zakirullah, Chief Coach Shafqatullah, Deputy Director Ameer Zahid Shah, Assistant Director Muhammad Ayub, Deputy Director Rahid Gul, AD Muhammad Imran, DSO Awan Hussain, and other officials.
In cricket matches held at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Bajaur defeated Upper South Waziristan by 35 runs. Orakzai edged past Sub-Division Kohat by one wicket in a thrilling encounter. Sub-Division Lakki claimed a 43-run victory over Sub-Division Tank.
At the PSB Hall, Mohmand defeated Sub-Division Peshawar in volleyball while Orakzai beat Sub-Division Lakki and North Waziristan overcame Sub-Division Kohat. Khyber defeated Upper South Waziristan after a tough contest. Sub-Division Tank and Sub-Division Bannu also won their respective matches.
Football matches at Tahmas Khan Football Ground saw Sub-Division Kohat beat Sub-Division Dera Ismail Khan 4–0. Bajaur defeated Orakzai 1–0, while Kurram edged Lower South Waziristan 4–3 in an exciting clash.
In hockey fixtures at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, Sub-Division Tank, Sub-Division Bannu, Bajaur, Khyber, Lower South Waziristan and Orakzai registered victories. Bajaur secured a commanding 6–0 win over Kurram, while Orakzai narrowly defeated Sub-Division Kohat 6–5 in a thrilling encounter.
