KPEZDMC CEO hails digital system as governance milestone

PESHAWAR
Adviser to the Chief Minister on Industries and Commerce Dr Mohammad Irshad on Thursday inaugurated a Resource Planning System at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC), marking a step towards digital governance and improved investor services.
According to an official statement, the system, developed in-house, has been designed to modernise the company’s institutional operations and facilitate investors and industrialists through an integrated digital platform.
Comprising more than 30 interconnected modules, the KPEZDMC Resource Planning (KRP) system brings key functions, including finance, procurement, human resources, legal affairs, governance and investor facilitation, under one platform. It is expected to promote paperless operations, improve coordination and strengthen institutional accountability.
Under the new system, investors will be able to access master plans of economic zones, check the availability of industrial plots, submit applications, make digital payments and track the progress of approvals online.
A dedicated grievance redressal mechanism has also been introduced to ensure transparent and timely resolution of investors’ complaints.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Dr Irshad said transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery were central to the government’s industrial development agenda.
He stressed the need for greater transparency in the allotment of industrial plots, discouraging speculative trading and taking strict action against the misuse or prolonged non-utilisation of industrial land.
The adviser reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the business environment, facilitating genuine industrial investment and promoting economic activity and employment opportunities across the province.
KPEZDMC Chief Executive Officer Shehryar Gul described the KRP system as a significant step towards digital governance and improved institutional efficiency.
Appreciating the company’s IT team for developing the platform, he said the system could also be adopted by other government organisations, creating opportunities for institutional collaboration and revenue generation.
A live demonstration was also held during the ceremony, showcasing online plot applications, digital payments, application tracking and the grievance management mechanism.
