Explosion in Wana Bazaar claims life of Mufti Jan Mir

Explosion occurred on ground floor of a supermarket located in busy Rustam Bazaar, say police
PESHAWAR
An explosion in Wana Bazaar of South Waziristan on Monday claimed the life of Mufti Jan Mir.
According to initial police report, Mufti Jan Mir was seriously injured in the blast and immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and launched an investigation. The explosion spread fear and panic throughout the area, while local residents expressed deep sorrow over the incident and demanded the permanent deployment of police in the market.
Residents also voiced concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, saying that such an incident in broad daylight is alarming.
According to police, the explosion is suspected to have been caused by a hand grenade. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact nature and circumstances surrounding the blast.
