Dar Leaves for New York to Attend 81st UNGA Session

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has departed Islamabad for New York, where he will accompany Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly from September 21 to 25.
During his extensive programme, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister will attend the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir and highlight Pakistan’s support for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris.
He will also participate in OIC ministerial meetings, including the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Annual Coordination Meeting and other Contact Group meetings.
In connection with Palestine, Ishaq Dar will attend several high-level meetings, including the meeting of the Group of Eight Arab Islamic countries and the High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister will also deliver a statement at a UN Security Council high-level briefing on Artificial Intelligence and attend a high-level meeting on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.
He will chair the ECO Council of Ministers meeting and hold bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts, besides accompanying the Prime Minister in high-level bilateral engagements.
During these engagements, he will highlight Pakistan’s efforts for regional and international peace and stability and exchange views on key regional and international challenges.
