CM Afridi, Governor KP receives Prince Rahim Aga Khan during Chitral visit

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Monday visited Lower Chitral, where he joined Faisal Karim Kundi and other political and government officials in welcoming Prince Rahim Aga Khan on his arrival in the district.
A statement issued here stated that during a meeting held after the reception, both sides discussed development priorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, investment opportunities, and ongoing initiatives in the health, education, tourism, and socio-economic sectors.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said the purpose of his brief visit was to welcome the distinguished guest and exchange views on the province’s investment potential and development agenda.
He said the meeting also focused on efforts aimed at improving public welfare and accelerating economic growth in the province.
The chief minister appreciated the longstanding role of the Aga Khan Development Network, particularly in the northern regions and Chitral, where its initiatives in healthcare, education, community development, and social welfare had significantly benefited local communities.
He added that discussions were also held regarding the proposed establishment of Aga Khan University and Aga Khan Hospital facilities in Peshawar.
According to officials, Prince Rahim Aga Khan expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in various sectors of the province and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting sustainable development initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi reiterated that the provincial government remained committed to promoting quality education and healthcare services, facilitating investment, and ensuring inclusive and sustainable development across the province.
The reception was also attended by Suraiya Bibi, the Commissioner Malakand Division, the Regional Police Officer Malakand, the Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral, and other senior political and administrative officials.
