BISP Chairperson visits PAI, explores skill development collaboration

Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid visited the Pak-Austria Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) in Haripur.
Upon her arrival, she was received by Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mujahid along with senior members of the institute’s management.
During the visit, discussions were held on potential collaboration for skill training and capacity building of women beneficiaries and their families under the Benazir Hunarmand Program.
The Chairperson was briefed about the institute’s educational infrastructure, state-of-the-art training facilities and its industry-oriented education model.
Head of the Human Capital Development Office, Ms. Zainab Azmat, informed the Chairperson about various training and diploma programs accredited by City and Guilds (UK), particularly in the fields of hospitality, health and information technology.
Senator Rubina Khalid also toured different facilities of the institute, including modern laboratories and student hostels, and appreciated the role of PAF-IAST in promoting applied education and market-driven skills.
She emphasized the importance of linking social protection initiatives with skill development programs to ensure sustainable livelihoods for BISP beneficiaries.
