BISP Chairperson emphasizes support for women, reviews facilities in Mohmand

Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, Friday said the programme reflects the vision of Benazir Bhutto to support underprivileged segments of society, particularly women, through financial assistance and social protection initiatives.
She stated this while speaking to media representatives during her visit to the BISP district office in Mohmand (Tehsil Yekka Ghund) on Friday. She highlighted that under the Benazir Kafaalat Program, more than 10 million women nationwide are benefiting, while the Nashonuma initiative provides nutritional and health support to pregnant and lactating women.

Senator Rubina Khalid further noted that through the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program, children from deserving families are receiving stipends from primary to higher secondary levels to ensure continuity of education.
She added that mobile registration vans are being deployed in remote areas to facilitate doorstep registration of eligible individuals. Earlier, the chairperson visited the BISP district office, where district officials, including the Director of Peshawar, were present.

She interacted with staff, listened to their concerns, and issued immediate directives for resolving operational issues, said a news release. She appreciated their performance and stressed the need to ensure maximum facilitation for beneficiaries. Later, she also visited the Benazir Nashonuma Center established at the Rural Health Center in Yakka Ghund.
She directed the staff to treat women beneficiaries with dignity and provide them with quality services, particularly in maternal and child health care.
