KP Sprinter Ataullah and Coach Abid Afridi Confirmed for Participation
World U-20 Athletics Championships

A significant and historic achievement for both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan athletics has been realized as the participation of the province’s emerging sprinter Ataullah and his coach Abid Afridi in the World U-20 Athletics Championships has been officially confirmed.
The prestigious global event will be held in the U.S. state of Oregon, where top young athletes from around the world will showcase their talent.
Ataullah’s selection for the World U-20 Championships is being regarded as a major honor not only for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also for Pakistan athletics.
Sports experts believe that participation in such a high-level international event will provide young athletes with valuable exposure and an opportunity to further develop their skills.
Expressing his delight, renowned athletics coach Abid Afridi said that the achievement was the result of continuous hard work, dedication and the support of sports-related institutions.
He noted that Ataullah has delivered impressive performances in track and field competitions over the past few years, earning him the opportunity to represent Pakistan on the global stage.
Afridi also extended special thanks to South Asian Athletics President Major General (R) Akram Sahi, saying that under his leadership Pakistan athletics has gained greater international recognition and practical steps are being taken to promote young talent.
He further thanked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Adviser Taj Muhammad Tarand and Director General Sports KP Tashfeen Haider for their contributions toward sports development and athlete encouragement in the province.
He added that a merit-based selection process strengthens athletes’ confidence, which is why young athletes from the province are achieving success at both national and international levels.
Afridi also acknowledged the support of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Athletics Association President Zaheer-ul-Islam and Saif-ul-Islam, whose patronage and cooperation have played an important role in promoting athletics in the province.
