Mardan Gurdwara double murder key suspect held: DPO

Police have arrested the prime suspect in the double murder at a Gurdwara in Mardan, District Police Officer Masood Ahmad told a press conference on Thursday.
, District Police Officer Ahmad said the arrest was made using modern forensic techniques, technical evidence, and professional investigative methods. The suspect has been identified as Sher Shah, son of Nadir Shah, a resident of Amazogarhi currently living in Iranabad.
The case was registered on the complaint of Amarjeet Lal, son of Jeevan Lal, a resident of Gaju Khan Shaheen Colony No. 2. The victims were identified as Jagnath, son of Hari Ram, and his wife Asawanti, residents of Babu Mohallah, Mardan.
According to the initial interrogation and findings of a joint investigation committee comprising the CTD and senior officials, there is so far no evidence linking the suspect to any banned organization, terrorist group, or organized network, the DPO said.
Sher Shah has given a personal account of the incident during initial questioning. Police said the statement has been made part of the investigation and all aspects are being examined closely to establish the motive.
SP Investigation Maria Mustafa, SP City Hukam Khan, ASP City, and SHO Hoti Police Station were present at the press conference alongside the DPO.
