Brother, accomplice held in robbery-murder

Police have claimed a breakthrough in the blind murder and robbery that took place inside a house in Pushtakhara Bala on Eid ul Azha, arresting the victim’s brother and his accomplice and recovering Rs1.686 million in cash along with the weapon used in the crime.
According to officials, a special team led by SP Cantt Division Abdullah Ehsan traced and arrested the two suspects through modern scientific and technical investigation methods.
The arrested men were identified as Muhammad Waqas, brother of the deceased Rehan son of Muhammad Hanif, 21, and his accomplice Muhammad son of Nawaz.
Police said the suspects entered their brother’s house in Peshtakhara Bala on Eid ul Azha and stabbed the physically disabled Rehan multiple times with a sharp-edged weapon, killing him on the spot. They then looted millions of rupees in cash from the house and fled.
An FIR was registered at Sarband police station on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muhammad Hanif son of Hadi Gul, and an investigation was launched. Taking serious notice of the heinous crime, senior officers formed a special team under SP Abdullah Ehsan to track down the culprits.
The team, comprising DSP Pushtakhara Circle Umar Afridi, SHO Sarband Usman Khan, and investigation officers, used forensic and technical evidence to identify and arrest the suspects.
During the operation, police recovered the stolen cash amounting to Rs1.686 million and the sharp-edged weapon allegedly used in the murder. Officials said further investigation was underway.
