Hazara Region wins cricket title at KP minority sports festival

Hazara Region lifted the cricket trophy at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minority Sports Festival organized by the Directorate General of Sports KP, while South Region finished runners-up in the thrilling final.
The festival featured a variety of sporting and recreational competitions. In football, South Region emerged as champions after defeating Malakand Region in the final. Minority Eleven claimed victory over the Sports Department team in the tug-of-war contest.
In other events, Wazirzada secured first position in the Musical Chair competition, while Senior Shoban and Junior Gerik won the senior and junior categories of the food competition respectively.
Director General Sports KP Tashfeen Haider distributed trophies and prizes among the winning athletes. Former MPA and President of Insaf Minority Wing Wazirzada, along with former MPA and Secretary of Insaf Minority Wing Ravi Kumar, attended the ceremony as special guests.
Among others present on the occasion were Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, Deputy Director Sports Kashif Farhan, Assistant Director Sports Ashfaq Ahmad, Senior Vice President Waqas Khokhar, Director Establishment Naimatullah Marwat, Faisal Javed, Saeed Akhtar, Irshad Khan and Adnan Joseph.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, DG Sports Tashfeen Haider said the provincial government was committed to providing equal sporting opportunities to minority athletes across the province. He termed the Minority Sports Festival an important initiative aimed at promoting inclusion, harmony and talent at the grassroots level.
He added that the festival was organized under the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Adviser for Sports Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, and assured that similar events would continue in the future.
