CM Afridi directs foolproof security across KP during Ramadan

A high-level meeting to review the overall law and order situation in the province was held at the Chief Minister’s House on Monday, with Muhammad Sohail Afridi in the chair.
The meeting undertook a comprehensive review of the prevailing security environment, counterterrorism measures and arrangements for the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Additional Inspector General Counter Terrorism Department and Additional Inspector General Special Branch, according to an official statement.
The Chief Minister directed all relevant authorities to ensure protection of life and property under all circumstances, warning that any lapse or negligence in this regard would be unacceptable.
He instructed officials to put in place comprehensive and well-coordinated security arrangements for prayers and religious gatherings during the holy month of Ramazan.
Highlighting the role of police in maintaining public safety, Mr Afridi said the force remained at the forefront of the province’s counterterrorism efforts and reaffirmed the provincial government’s continued support.
He said all required resources would be provided to police on a priority basis to further strengthen their operational capacity.
The Chief Minister also directed the authorities concerned to operate under a clearly defined and results-oriented security strategy, ensuring optimal and efficient utilisation of available resources.
He stressed that all relevant institutions must remain vigilant and maintain a high level of operational preparedness to respond effectively to any untoward incident.
