Turkish Chief of General Staff Calls on Pakistan Army Chief at GHQ

General Selçuk Bayraktaroglu, Chief of the Turkish General Staff, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF, at Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) today. Upon arrival, he was presented with a guard of honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the prevailing regional and global security landscape, and prospects for strengthening bilateral defence and military cooperation. The dignitaries expressed satisfaction with the current trajectory of Pakistan–Türkiye relations, emphasizing the need for close coordination and enhanced defence collaboration.
Field Marshal Munir highlighted the longstanding brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in shared history, mutual trust, and strong people-to-people ties. He appreciated the support and cooperation extended by the Turkish Armed Forces and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening military-to-military relations.
General Bayraktaroglu thanked the Pakistan Army for the warm reception and praised the professionalism of its personnel. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to deepen defence cooperation, including joint training, exercises, and capacity-building initiatives.
The visit underscores the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye and their shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and security.
