CPHGC awarded by prestigious 2025 environmental excellence award

The National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) has bestowed China Power Hub Generation Company CPHGC with the 22nd Outstanding Environmental Excellence Award 2025. The award recognises CPHGC’s substantial commitment and active role in environmental protection, sustainable development and adoption of best corporate governance practices within the energy sector in Pakistan.
The award recognises CPHGC’s continuous endeavours to incorporate green energy projects, emission reduction measures and social responsibility activities into its primary business processes. The company’s reputation as an innovative power producer has been enhanced by achieving new milestones in environmental responsibility. Every year, NFEH, among the most reputable environmental NGOs in Pakistan, recognizes organizations that show exemplary passion in sustainability as leaders. For this year’s award, CPHGC has been recognized for implementing the best available technologies, implementing strong emission limits, and for the conservation oriented projects funded within the power plant’s greenbelt.
“The Vice President, Mr Saleem Qureshi delivered a speech at the ceremony and remarked the company philosophy in the following words: ‘The award is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our employees towards the advancement. Development in the field of eco-sustainability is a priority in the company’s business plan and with purposeful innovation coupled with optimal use of resources, it is our endeavor to reduce and rationalize our ecological footprint and at the same time, enhance the energy milieu of the Pakistan region.’”
In an effort to walk the walk in strengthening the pledges made towards the preservation of the environment, in CPHGC, plenty of initiatives have been undertook in the past few years. This includes the installation of supercritical coal fired tech for greater efficiency and reduced consumption, the installation of a near-zero discharge state-of-the-art centralized wastewater treatment plant, and the commencement of large-scale afforestation projects in the neighboring populations. Also, the firm is in the course of closing the gap in the investment green power segment, especially solar and wind.
Mr. Asif Ali, Chairman of NFEH, commended CPHGC while stating that the company showcases the symbiotic relationship possible between economic growth and environmental sustainability.
