CM Gandapur inaugurates long-awaited Peshawar Ring Road missing link

CM-KP vows to complete projects pending since 2013. Announced an additional Rs 50b in ADP

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur inaugurated the construction of the long-awaited missing link of the Peshawar Ring Road near Nasir Bagh Road on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Provincial Ministers Mina Khan, Arshad Ayub, and Special Assistant Asim.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said Peshawar had long been neglected and it was time to look ahead and focus on meaningful development. “We inherited unresolved issues and had access to only 18 days’ worth of salary from the provincial resources,” he said. “Despite the challenges, our politics is based on principles, and it should remain that way.”
Gandapur announced an additional Rs 50 billion in the Annual Development Program (ADP) and vowed not to leave any tehsil in the province without a Rural Health Centre (RHC). “Creating districts alone is not enough,” he said. “Real development lies in providing essential services like health and education.”
He expressed concern that despite spending Rs 30 billion annually for the past 15 years on districts and tehsils, many still lack District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals and colleges. “There is only one hospital in the entire province for cardiac patients, leading to waiting times of up to three months. This is unacceptable,” he said.
He criticized former public representatives who failed to secure even a college for their districts and pledged to complete the stalled projects from previous governments. “Some projects have been pending since 2013. We will ensure their completion during our tenure,” he added.
Gandapur also announced a new road from the Industrial Estate, part of a comprehensive development package for Peshawar. “Working with the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) is among the most difficult tasks, but it must be done. People are dying due to adulterated food and we will be held accountable for this,” he said.
Speaking about his recent meeting with the Governor, Gandapur clarified that he attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice. “I don’t hide my actions,” he stated.
