Justice SM Atiq Shah sworn in as Chief Justice of PHC

Justice Syeed Muhammad Atiq Shah took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) in a formal ceremony held at the Governor House on Tuesday. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath, officially marking Justice Shah’s appointment to the province’s highest judicial office. The ceremony was attended by prominent political and judicial figures, including Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, who extended his congratulations to the newly appointed Chief Justice.
Governor Kundi congratulated Justice Shah and expressed best wishes for his tenure, emphasizing the pivotal role of the judiciary in safeguarding the rule of law and delivering justice.
The oath-taking ceremony was also attended by Federal Minister for SAFRON Amir Muqam, Leader of the Opposition in the KP Assembly Dr. Ibadullah Khan, provincial ministers, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Ahmed, Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsud, senior judges, lawyers, heads of administrative departments, and other high-ranking officials.
