CPHGC Joins Job Fair in Islamabad to empower Pakistani Youth

In a significant step toward strengthening youth employment and harnessing their skills, the China Power Hub Generation Company (CPHGC) actively participated in a job fair organized at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad. The event was jointly organized by the China Chamber of Commerce Pakistan (CCCPK) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), with sponsorship from the Government of Pakistan and various other stakeholders.
The job fair aimed to connect fresh graduates from universities and technical colleges with employment opportunities, focusing on skill development and long-term employability. Over 4,300 candidates participated in the event, where 20 Chinese companies collectively offered more than 500 job openings.
CPHGC, a key participant, set up a dedicated stall and received an overwhelming response, collecting over 700 resumes from enthusiastic job seekers. The company offered career opportunities across several departments, including Operations & Maintenance, HR & Admin, HSE, Finance, and Internal Audit for Management Trainee and Apprenticeship programs.
The participation in this job fair reflects CPHGC’s ongoing commitment to community development and youth empowerment, and CPHGC strongly believes in nurturing young talent and supporting Pakistan’s socio-economic growth through employment and training initiatives.
The event was attended by key dignitaries, including Mr. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister for Federal Education & Professional Training.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in tackling youth employment challenges. Mr. Jiang said, “China encourages its enterprises to give back to local communities. We are ready to work with Pakistan to create new platforms that bridge universities and enterprises. This partnership will turn Pakistan’s demographic potential into a talent advantage.”
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui expressed his appreciation for China’s continued support in Pakistan’s development and praised the role of Chinese companies in uplifting livelihoods. He stated, “This job fair has helped hundreds of families and stands as a testament to the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China.”
CPHGC remains dedicated to playing a positive role not only through power generation but also through its CSR efforts, environmental stewardship, and initiatives to boost local employment. Events like this job fair underline the company’s commitment to long-term sustainable development and meaningful community engagement in Pakistan.
