KP govt activates emergency framework amid Indian aggression

PESHAWAR
In response to ongoing Indian aggression, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has activated its provincial emergency framework to enhance preparedness and ensure coordinated response across the province.
Following an emergency cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, all field formations, emergency services, and relevant departments have been placed on high alert. Instructions have been issued to implement precautionary measures at all levels. According to an official statement, the provincial government has activated District Emergency Coordination Committees in every district. These committees will comprise representatives from the police, health department, Rescue 1122, civil defense, and local government bodies to ensure seamless coordination in any emergency situation.
All government officers’ leaves have been canceled, and no official will be allowed to leave their station. Emergency services including ambulances, fire brigades, and rescue teams have been instructed to remain on standby. Emergency drills are also being launched to prepare for potential crises.
Additionally, village and neighborhood committees were being reactivated to enhance local-level communication and response.
In light of the threat posed by disinformation and information warfare, the provincial government has instructed all departments to ensure the dissemination of only verified information.
The statement said that strict monitoring of rumors, fake news, and propaganda materials was being implemented, with clear directives to counter any foreign campaigns aimed at demoralizing the public.
The government emphasized that only designated spokespersons are authorized to issue official statements. Public awareness campaigns will advise citizens not to believe or spread unverified information, reinforcing the importance of unified and responsible messaging during this sensitive time.
All essential departments have declared a state of emergency, with control rooms being activated for real-time monitoring and coordination. Power utility providers PESCO and TESCO have also been instructed to prepare for any potential blackout scenarios.
