Federal minister releases Rs20m grant for KP Bar Council

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar has announced a grant of Rs 20 million for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council.
The cheque was handed over during a meeting in Islamabad, where Vice Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, Ahmed Farooq Khattak, and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Akbar Khan Kohistani, received the funds.
According to a statement, in addition to Peshawar, grants were also distributed to several other bar associations across the province, including those in Khyber, Bajaur, Kohat, Hangu, Karam Takht, Nusrati, Banda, Dadoud Shah, Havelian, and Haripur. This was confirmed by Nawaz Khan, Secretary of the KP Bar Council.
The event was attended by Presidents and other officials from various bar associations. In a statement, Khattak and Kohistani expressed their gratitude to Minister Tarar for his support, stating that the legal community is committed to upholding the supremacy of the Constitution and law in Pakistan.
They further emphasized that the financial assistance would help alleviate the challenges faced by lawyers, particularly those in remote areas, and improve access to justice for legal practitioners across the region.
