World athletics level one coaching course concludes in Peshawar

PESHAWAR
The World Athletics Coaches Education and Certification Level One Coaching Course concluded in Peshawar after 13 days, with more than 30 male and female coaches from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces participating.
Secretary Sports Muhammad Asif distributed certificates among the participating coaches at the concluding ceremony. DG Sports Ashfaq Khan, President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Athletics Association Zaheer Islam, Director Female Nazia Zaki, AD Sports Ashfaq Ahmad, Chief Coach Shafqatullah, Director Jafar Shah, Administrator Abid Nazim, Zafran Afridi, Yousaf Afridi and other officials were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Muhammad Asif said KP has abundant sporting talent and stressed the need for modern training and proper guidance to help young athletes reach their potential. He said sports not only develop youth talent but also contribute to the national economy and Pakistan’s image internationally.
Zaheer Islam termed the hosting of the World Athletics Level One course in Peshawar an important step towards promoting athletics in the province. He said the modern training would enhance coaches’ technical skills and enable them to train young athletes according to international standards.
DG Sports Ashfaq Khan said coaches play a fundamental role in every sport, describing them as experts who “shape and polish” sporting talent. He assured that the Directorate General of Sports KP would continue supporting modern coaching courses and other initiatives to enhance coaches’ capacity.
