US Envoy Condemns Islamabad Blast in Meeting With Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Acting United States Ambassador Natalie Baker met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday, condemning the recent Islamabad blast and expressing deep sympathy for the families of those who lost their lives.
During the meeting, Baker paid tribute to Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged the country’s continued commitment to regional security.
She also praised Pakistan’s counter terrorism efforts, reaffirming Washington’s support for ongoing cooperation.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the US envoy on the incident, stating that the attacker intended to target a court but was unable to enter due to strict security measures.
“All individuals linked to the attack have been traced, the facilitators arrested, and a comprehensive investigation is underway,” Naqvi said.
The minister reiterated that “talks and terrorist attacks cannot go hand in hand,” emphasizing Pakistan’s resolve against militancy.
He added that Pakistan–US relations are rooted in friendship and mutual trust.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.
