Terrorism will be drowned in Indian Ocean: PM
Premier says int’l community should acknowledge country’s sacrifices as over 100,000 Pakistanis martyred

ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said we will lift the terrorism from borders of Pakistan and drown it in Indian ocean.
“ scourge of terrorism is resurging. The nexus of Khwaraj, TTP and TTA has become serious threat for peace in the country. Anti Pakistan forces are providing them resources. We will lift the terrorism from border of Pakistan and drown it in Indian ocean, PM said this while talking to members of the Qaumi Paigham-e-Aman Committee, who called on him in Islamabad Frkday.
The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that the Committee would play a pivotal role in strengthening the national narrative against extremism and terrorism, similar to the historic role played by Ulema and Mashaekh in the creation of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan was created to implement the principles of peace, justice and tolerance. He said forging unity is needed today more than ever before.
He commended the significant role of the minorities in the development of Pakistan and their valuable services in different sectors including education, health and defence.
Shehbaz Sharif particularly mentioned Cecil Chaudhry, Justice Rana Bhagwandas for their commitment and unforgettable role for Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said Almighty Allah has blessed Pakistan with vast natural resources worth trillions of dollars, which, if explored effectively, could help overcome challenges such as poverty, unemployment and debts. He said if we use the hidden treasures, all our problems will end.
Turning to sacrifices of the nation and the armed forces of Pakistan in the war against terrorism, the Prime Minister said Pakistan demonstrated its strength in May 2025 during Marka-e-Haq when it decisively defeated India.
He said India was defeated because of the blessings of Allah Almighty and the professional capabilities and prowess of the armed forces under the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He said the international community should acknowledge Pakistan’s immense sacrifices saying that the country possessed solid evidences of external support being extended to the terrorist elements in Pakistan.
He said the members of the Qaumi Paigham-e-Aman Committee would visit different cities of the country to convey a message of peace and counter hate-based narratives.
Making Pakistan a real welfare state is priority of government, he said adding deliverance from debt and eradication of poverty and unemployment is difficult too but not next to impossible.
He held over one lac Pakistanis have rendered the sacrifice of their lives in war on terror. Security forces offices and jawans too are included in them along with citizens.
He assured the way terrorism was eliminated in 2018, this evil will be crushed once again with the same resolve and determination.
