Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a guiding light for humanity: Federal Minister

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Thursday, said that the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a reminder to embrace the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a guiding light for humanity, leading towards success, tolerance, patience, compassion, and harmony.
In an exclusive interview with APP, the federal minister said that the government will organize the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, coinciding with the global celebrations declared by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to mark the 1500th birth year of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The minister said it was a great blessing and honor for Muslims to be part of the Ummah of the Last Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
He added that the Seerat-un-Nabi Conference would be held at both the federal and provincial levels, with scholars and intellectuals highlighting the Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Him) universal message for peace and harmony.
He further noted that the OIC’s decision to mark the current Hijri year as the 1500th year of the Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Him) birth was aimed at promoting adherence to his teachings across the globe. “These activities seek to remind the entire Ummah that Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was sent as the Last Messenger for all humanity, and his life is a source of guidance for peace, tolerance, and unity,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Religious Affairs Dr. Syed Ata-ur-Rehman said that Eid Milad-un-Nabi is being celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm across the country.
He noted that every year, the Ministry of Religious Affairs commemorates 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal by holding the International Seerat Conference, and this year, the 1500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is being marked on a much larger scale with the participation of prominent international personalities.
He shared with APP that this year, the number of delegates and speakers has significantly increased. The distinguished guests include the Deputy Grand Mufti, the Chief Justice from Palestine, and the Minister for Religious Affairs of Bangladesh. “It is a matter of great honor for us that after a long gap, our brotherly country Bangladesh is participating at the ministerial level in this joyous and historic occasion,” he remarked.
He also conveyed a message to the people of Pakistan to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.
He informed that under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, a meeting of provincial ministers and secretaries was held to finalize arrangements, during which it was decided that conferences and events would also be organized at the provincial level to reaffirm commitment to following the Seerat of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The federal secretary added that the official Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference would also witness the participation of representatives of minority communities, including Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Bahá’ís, and others, reflecting the inclusive and interfaith harmony message of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
