Rs60 million distributes among heirs of martyred in Khyber

Sixty million rupees were distributed as Shaheed packages among legal heirs of the late police officials in Khyber who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.
In this connection, a simple gathering was organized in the office of District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber that was attended by the police head Mazhar Iqbal as chief besides relatives of the martyrs and ghazis and police officers.
Speaking on the occasion DPO Mazhar Iqbal paid rich tribute to the martyred police personnel and said they secured the future of their countrymen by giving unprecedented sacrifices.
We are like members of one family and all necessary initiatives will be adopted to provide relief to the families of the martyred heros, he opined.
He maintained that recently a memorandum had been signed with well-known education institutions for the purpose to provide free education to the children of the martyred police officials.
He went on that the door of the DPO office was always opened for the heirs of martyrs and no stone would be left unturned to address their miseries.
Later on, the district police officer commingled with members of the late police heros and issued directions on the spot to resolve problems, convoyed by the members of the visiting families.
Earlier, compensation cheques worth sixty million rupees were given away to the legal heirs of the martyred police officials.
It is to be mentioned here that as per police department about 80 police officials have been killed in various terror activities in the current year in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP).
Since 1979 to 2023 a total of 1982 police personnel have been killed in terrorism in KP and Peshawar is top among the districts that has witnessed 358 policemen being killed followed by Dera Ismael Khan 221 and Bannu district 211 police casualties.
