RMI Media Cricket League Concludes – Markhor Crowned Champions

Defeats PPC Qabail; Secretary Information Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan Attends as Chief Guest and Distributes Trophies & Shields, “Proud to Support the RMI Media Cricket League,” says RMI COO

Markhor clinched the title of the 9th edition of the Media Cricket League (MCL) after defeating PPC Qabail in the final match of the RMI Media Cricket League.
The closing ceremony was held at the Gymkhana Ground, attended by COO Rehman Medical Institute Colonel (R) Tariq, Secretary Information & Public Relations Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, and a large number of media professionals.
In the thrilling final, Markhor showcased an exceptional performance in the last over to defeat PPC Qabail.
The Chief Guest distributed trophies and shields among the winning team and captains of all participating teams.
Those present at the ceremony included RMI Chief Operating Officer Colonel (R) Tariq Khan, Marketing Manager Faizan Qureshi, RMI Spokesperson Saqlain Kazmi, UNICEF National Head Melissa Corkum, Coordinator Emergency Operations Centre for Polio Eradication KP Shafiullah Khan, Director General Information Imran Khan, Malik Ismail Khan, Director General Capital Metropolitan Qadir Naseer, Director East Zone Yaser Jamshed, President Peshawar Press Club M. Riaz, President KHUJ Kashifuddin, General Secretary Tayyab Usman Awan, senior journalist Shamim Shahid, Chairman Sports Committee Irfan Musazai, and several other media representatives.
Addressing the ceremony, RMI COO said that the MCL is an excellent platform that encourages media professionals toward healthy and positive activities.
He further said that RMI is grateful to the Peshawar Press Club administration for providing the opportunity to host the Media Cricket League. RMI has always played a key role in supporting journalists and will continue contributing toward the promotion of health in the future.
Speaking at the event, Secretary Information Bakhtiar Khan appreciated the strong interest shown by journalists in sports. He said that in the modern era, alongside professional responsibilities, taking time out for sports activities is extremely important.
Match Summary:
In the final played at Gymkhana Cricket Ground Peshawar, PPC Qabail batted first and scored 137 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Kamran Khan (37), Bilal Afridi (30), and Shahid Afridi (29) were the top scorers.
For Markhor, Arshad Yousafzai bowled brilliantly, taking 3 wickets, while Qari Gul Rahman took 2 and Rizwan claimed 1 wicket.
Chasing the target, PPC Markhor displayed responsible batting and achieved the target in the final over with 4 wickets remaining. Waseem scored 53 and Yaser Ali added 46 runs, playing crucial roles in the victory. Waseem was declared Player of the Match, while Yaser Ali was named Best Batter of the Tournament and Shahid Afridi Best Bowler.
The RMI Media Cricket League is organized every year for the journalists of Peshawar with the support of Rehman Medical Institute, and its ninth edition concluded today.
