Restrictions on religious seminaries unacceptable: Fazal

TAKHT BHAI
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F), criticized the government for attempting to impose restrictions on religious seminaries. He claimed that the JUI thwarted these efforts, passing a bill that countered Qadianism in the National Assembly.
Addressing a ceremony at Darul Uloom Islamia Arabia Shergarh, Takht Bhai here on Sunday, JUI-F asserted that no anti-Shariah legislation can be passed with JUI members in parliament. He also praised the seminary, stating it spreads Islamic knowledge globally.
Earlier, JUI-F visited the residence of former Senator Sahibzada Khalid Jan to offer condolences. He also spoke to the media, criticizing the government’s policies and alleging corruption and lawlessness.
Fazal expressed disappointment with the joint government of PML-N and PPP, accusing them of blackmailing each other. He claimed the country was on the brink of destruction due to failed policies.
