Quality education termed necessary to tackle challenges

Deputy Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Suraya Bibi said that to deal with the challenges of today, the need of the hour is to get quality education and take necessary steps in this regard.
Without education, the development of nations is impossible. He said that the provision of higher education for the youth in the province is one of the top priorities of the current government.
While presiding over the meeting.On this occasion, Provincial Minister Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi, Ex-MPA Wazirzada, Additional Secretary Higher Education Javed Iqbal, Chief Planning Officer Faqir Muhammad, Additional Registrar Chitral University Dr. Sahib Khan, Assistant Director and others. Concerned authorities also participated.
Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi expressed concern over the financial crisis of Chitral University and said that Higher Education should release funds immediately to put this blessed institution on its feet.
It is necessary to provide all the resources for the university but the funds required by the university have not been released yet. They have sent a letter to the higher education department to provide 300 million rupees in aid fund from the university, it should be implemented immediately.
But Assistant Director University Chitral said that the number of students in the university is 1400 and morning and evening classes are started in two shifts, which the current university building is insufficient.
For which we also need a spacious building, the existing agricultural building can be made useful for the university and the lack of classrooms can be addressed, for which we have to talk to the agricultural department. He added that we only get a grant of 20 million every year.
On this occasion, Additional Secretary Higher Education Javed Iqbal said that after the completion of 3 years of the university, the work of financing becomes the responsibility of the federal government. Will try hard for a solution.
We have a fund of 9 billion rupees for all universities, but due to the increase in the number of universities, we are facing difficulties in providing funds. All problems can be solved.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi said that we will also hold a meeting with the Provincial Minister of Agriculture to hand over the existing agricultural building to Chitral University.
He further said that a financial working group is being formed to examine the financial difficulties of the universities to provide complete financial details of the universities.
