The ongoing mega cricket tournament, Hayatabad Super League, witnessed two thrilling encounters, with Qambar Eleven and Nazim Fighters delivering outstanding performances to clinch victories in their respective matches.
In the 12th match of the league, Qambar Eleven faced Avenger Cricket Club in a closely contested battle at Hayatabad Cricket Stadium, Peshawar. Batting first, Qambar Eleven posted a total of 130 runs in 18 overs, with Zubair Ahmed leading the charge with 35 runs, followed by Zahoor (28) and Altaf (23). Among Avenger CC’s bowlers, Usama stood out with 2 wickets for 14 runs, Kashif took 2 for 36, and Shehab claimed 1 for 26.
In response, Avenger CC struggled to chase the target and managed 119/9 in 18 overs. Zakkiullah fought hard with 42 runs, while Ansar (26) and Tariq Zada (18) made valuable contributions. However, Qambar Eleven’s bowlers dominated the game, with Sadiq Afridi delivering a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for just 18 runs. Saleem also impressed with 3/16, while Zubair Ahmed bagged 2/24, ensuring an 11-run victory for their team. For his all-round brilliance, Zubair Ahmed was named Player of the Match.
The 13th match saw a one-sided contest between Nazim Fighters and Buner Zalmi, where Nazim Fighters’ batsmen put on a spectacular display. Opting to bat first, Nazim Fighters amassed a formidable 228/3 in 17 overs. The star of the innings was Sahibzada Abdullah, who played an unbeaten knock of 123 runs, while Sahibzada Farhan contributed a solid 75, and Kamran added 15. On the bowling front for Buner Zalmi, Khaista Rehman picked up 2 wickets for 42 runs, while Jansher managed 1 for 46.
Chasing a daunting target, Buner Zalmi faltered and could only manage 117/7 in 17 overs. Sardar Ali top-scored with 43 runs, followed by Nekzada (22) and Wajid (16). The Nazim Fighters’ bowling unit was relentless, with Abbas Afridi conceding just 10 runs for 2 wickets, while Imtiaz (2/12) and Tahir Afridi (2/16) played crucial roles in restricting the opposition. Nazim Fighters secured a massive 111-run victory, and Sahibzada Abdullah was deservedly awarded Player of the Match for his sensational century.
