‘Punjab Sports Department to build markets, shops, and food streets around sports complexes’

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that Punjab Sports Department, in a significant move, will construct, markets, shops and food streets around all sports complexes and stadiums of the province in a bid to enhance the revenue generation of the department.
He said this while presiding over an important meeting regarding key sports issues at the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) here on Friday.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab KhizarAfzaalChaudhry, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Youth Affairs Syed Omair Hassan, Deputy Director Ata-ur-Rehman, Tariq Khanzada, Divisional Sports Officer Bahawalpur Amir Hameed and other officials participated in the meeting.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab KhizarAfzaalChaudhry briefed the meeting about different sports issues. A 2-minute documentary regarding one-year performance of Punjab Sports Department was also shown in the meeting.
It may be noted here that top sports officers of Punjab Sports Department visited different cities of the province under the leadership of Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab KhizarAfzaalChaudhry to review different sites for building markets, shops and food streets to generate sufficient revenue.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that beautiful markets and shops with ideal designs will be built around sports complexes and stadiums in Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan and other cities of the province. “As many as 60 shops will be built in Faisalabad Division, 35 in Muzaffargarh, 26 in Rahwali, 16 in Gojra, 12 in Bahawalpur, 10 in Rawalpindi and four in NowshehraVirkan”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that all the sports complexes and stadiums of the province will be monitored directly.
“Monitoring teams of Punjab Sports Department will assess the sports facilities in all cities of the province”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar further said that the performances and sports activities of all sports officers will be observed closely. “The sports officers with mediocre and ordinary performance will not be tolerated anymore”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar said that all sports stadiums and complexes of the province will be shifted to solar energy system. “The solar system will also be installed in 52 new sports complexes. Until now, 94 sports complexes out of 116 have been shifted to solar energy system”.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar has directed the officers concerned to complete the under-construction sports complexes and other facilities in Bahawalpur division within a period of three months. “No negligence and complacency will be tolerated in sports affairs of the Punjab Sports Department”.
