PTI not an enemy but a ‘political opponent’, says Musadik Malik

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik said on Sunday that the PTI was not an enemy, but a political opponent. Speaking to the media men, he said it would be better to bring down the political temperature in the country. “It is good that talks are taking place between the government and the PTI. The way out of the present impasse will only be found through talks.” Referring to the resolutions passed by the US Congress in which concern was raised about the human rights situation in Pakistan, he said that the country could not withstand sanctions. Musadik said that prison terms had been awarded to those involved in the May 9 incidents of violence. The minister said that criminal cases had been registered against the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan. News Agency
