Providing job opportunities to youth is the core responsibilities of any govt: CM

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has achieved another significant milestone in its efforts to empower youth through equipping them with modern information technology skills. Under the provincial government’s Youth Employment Program, more than 2,000 young individuals have successfully completed an international standard training in various fields including Artificial Intelligence, Game Development, Cloud Computing, Animation, and Web Development.
Similarly, 180 young individuals have also completed internships under the provincial Digital Internship Program and have been on boarded in various IT companies and the Information Technology Board. A certificate distribution ceremony for graduates was held here the other day at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur attending as the chief guest. The event was also attended by provincial cabinet members Meena Khan Afridi and Shafqat Ayaz, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary ST&IT Amjad Ali Khan, and other senior officials of the Information Technology Department, and students.
The Chief Minister distributed certificates among the students who completed the training. It is worth mentioning that, under the Digital Internship Program of the provincial government, over 2,200 young individuals have been on boarded in renowned IT companies, out of which 67% have already secured employment. Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that providing employment opportunities to youth is one of the core responsibilities of any government. While it may not be possible for the government to provide public sector jobs to everyone, but it can at least create opportunities in the private sector.
He emphasized that the current era is dominated by information technology and offers countless employment opportunities. Since day one, the government has been working under a comprehensive strategy to equip the youth with modern digital skills in the IT sector, with the sole purpose of training them in accordance with the demands of the job market. These young individuals are becoming a vital part of the province’s digital workforce and are playing an effective role in promoting the digital economy. He further said that with digital skills, youth can work online with clients and companies from any country in the world while staying at home.
The government is investing in youth to make them self-reliant and a real asset to the nation. The Chief Minister also announced good news for youth engaged in the IT sector, stating that the under-construction Digital City project in Haripur will be completed within this year.
He added that the government is also providing modern training in other sectors to create employment opportunities for youth. He urged youth to avail the most of these opportunities, not only to earn a livelihood but also to contribute to strengthening the province’s economy.
