PPC Markhor wins RMI Media Cricket League title

PPC Markhor emerged victorious in the RMI Media Cricket League, defeating PPC Zalmi by six wickets in a thrilling final match.
The event was graced by Syed Fakhar Jehan, the Provincial Minister for Sports, who attended as the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winning players.
The occasion was also attended by several dignitaries, including Director General of Sports Abdul Nasir, President of the Peshawar Press Club Arshad Aziz Malik, President of the Khyber Union of Journalists Kashifuddin Syed, Secretary General of AIPS Asia Amjad Aziz Malik, Director of PIMS Education System Ismail Khan, Chief Operating Officer of RMI Col (R) Tariq Khan, Secretary of Peshawar Press Club Irfan Musa Zai, Chairman of the Sports Committee Abid Khan, along with many other prominent personalities and a large number of journalists.
The event was a great success, bringing together journalists, sports enthusiasts, and community members to celebrate both sportsmanship and the vibrant media community in Peshawar.
Addressing the gathering Chief Guest Syed Fakhar Jehan expressed his pleasure in witnessing the active participation of journalists in such events emphasising the importance of recreational activities for professionals to excel in their respective fields. He highlighted the government’s commitment to reviving sports in the province and announced extensive preparations for the Quaid-e-Azam Games with trials being conducted at various venues.
At the conclusion of the event the Provincial Minister distributed awards among the players Wahid Khan was declared the tournament’s best bowler while Shah Faisal was recognized as the best batsman.
The Minister also announced a grant of Rs 0.5 million for the Peshawar Press Club and cash prizes of Rs 50,000 each for the winner and runner-up teams, handing over the cheques to the Press Club President and team representatives.
A total of 18 teams comprising 300 journalists participated in the tournament showcasing the vibrant sportsmanship within the journalistic community.
