Police personnel directed to boost security ahead of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal events

Lahore Police Chief Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over a crucial meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters, focusing on the performance of the City Police, particularly in the Presidents and Iqbal Town Divisions.
The meeting reviewed progress in law and order, crime control, and public service delivery.
The CCPO directed that additional police personnel be deployed for the security of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal rallies, processions, and gatherings. He stressed the need for continuous communication between police officers and event organizers to ensure smooth and secure celebrations.
Kamyana also emphasized the need for expedited processing of police personnel’s employment matters and instructed Superintendents of Police (SPs) to regularly hold hearings for internal issues while maintaining the dignity of the staff.
Further, the CCPO called for an accelerated crackdown on drug dealers, urging that intelligence-based operations be used to combat drug trafficking effectively. He highlighted the importance of using Automatic Vehicle Location Systems (AVLS) to prevent motorcycle theft and leveraging the Punjab Safe Cities Authority network to prevent crime.
Kamyana urged the use of modern technology and human intelligence to apprehend fugitives and emphasized the importance of addressing citizen complaints, ensuring timely registration of FIRs, and conducting merit-based investigations.
He reaffirmed the Lahore Police’s commitment to protecting all citizens, including women, children, and vulnerable groups, and urged officers to perform their duties with dedication and focus.
The meeting was attended by key officials including DIG Investigation Zeshan Asghar, DIG Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran, SSP Investigation Anoush Masood Chaudhry, SSP Operations Tasawar Iqbal, as well as SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs, and other in-charges from the Presidents and Iqbal Town Divisions.
